After Turtle WoW and Ascension
Starting fresh after your server shut down
Short answer
Losing characters to a shutdown hurts, but a new realm has advantages: everyone starts at level 1, the economy is empty and groups form easily. Set small goals, level with friends and pick a class you have not played. On Keldurn you can start in a browser in minutes, with the original 1.12 world at x1.

Why a fresh realm can feel better than you expect
On an old realm, new characters level alone through empty zones. On a new one, starting areas are busy, dungeon groups form in minutes and the Auction House rewards early gatherers.
That shared start is also the easiest moment to build a new guild.
Avoid the burnout trap
Trying to rebuild everything in a week is the fastest way to quit again. Enjoy the levelling, the professions and the first dungeons; level 60 will come.
Playing from a phone for short sessions, then continuing on a computer, helps keep a steady pace on Keldurn.
- Set weekly goals, not daily grinds.
- Keep a group of friends for dungeons.
- Pick two gathering professions for early gold.
Make the most of a fresh economy
In the first weeks, basic materials such as copper, linen cloth and early herbs sell quickly because everyone is levelling professions at once. Gatherers who start early earn the gold that buys their first mount.
Avoid undercutting by large amounts: a small, steady discount sells your goods without dragging prices down for everyone, including you.
Questions players ask
Will a new server also shut down?
Nobody can promise the future of any independent server. Choose one with clear rules and a fair shop, and enjoy the journey with friends.
How long does it take to reach 60 at x1?
Much longer than on boosted servers: it is a journey measured in weeks for most players.
