After Turtle WoW and Ascension
Is Turtle WoW coming back?
Short answer
Not in its previous form. The permanent injunction entered on 15 April 2026 bars Turtle's operator from running private servers or successor projects for Blizzard games and from passing its code or assets to others. Treat any site claiming to be 'the new Turtle' with caution. Players who miss the vanilla world can start fresh on an established realm.
Key facts
| Official return | None announced |
|---|---|
| Injunction | Permanent, entered 15 April 2026 |
| Successor projects | Barred for Turtle's operator |
| Code and assets | May not be handed to third parties |
| 'New Turtle' sites | Treat with caution; check who runs them |
| Keldurn | Blizzlike 1.12 at x1, not a Turtle successor |
Why rumours keep appearing
Large communities do not disappear overnight, so projects that use Turtle's name to attract players appear quickly. Some are genuine fan efforts; others simply collect logins or donations.
Never reuse the password you had on Turtle, and do not download clients from sources you cannot verify.
What Turtle players can do now
If you enjoyed the custom content, the honest answer is that it is gone for now. If you enjoyed the vanilla world, slow levelling and group dungeons, a blizzlike realm gives you that today.
Keldurn is not a Turtle successor and does not use its content. It is the original 1.12 world at x1 that your group can play in a browser, on a phone or on Windows.
How to recognise a genuine new project
Legitimate projects explain who they are, publish their rules and never ask for credentials from another server. Look for these signs before you create an account anywhere:
- A named team and a way to contact it.
- A written rules page and a clear shop policy.
- Downloads, if any, only from its own website.
- No pressure to donate before you can play.
Questions players ask
Can Turtle's team open a new server under another name?
The injunction bars its operator from running or developing private servers or successor projects for Blizzard games.
Is it safe to use my old Turtle password elsewhere?
No. Always use a new, unique password on any realm you join.
