After Turtle WoW and Ascension
Classic+ vs blizzlike: which one is for you?
Short answer
A blizzlike realm recreates the original game rules and content as closely as possible, while a Classic+ realm adds new zones, races, items or class changes on top. Blizzlike suits players who want the original world and a known pace; Classic+ suits players who want something new. Keldurn is blizzlike: the complete 1.12 content at x1.
Key facts
| Blizzlike | Original rules, content and balance |
|---|---|
| Classic+ | New content or changes added on top |
| Guides | Blizzlike: classic guides apply as written |
| Surprises | Classic+: more novelty, more unknowns |
| Keldurn | Blizzlike 1.12, x1 rates, one PvP realm |
Why blizzlike still feels fresh
On a new blizzlike realm everyone starts at level 1 and the economy is empty. The first weeks bring crowded starting zones, groups forming for every dungeon and prices that settle day by day.
Because the rules are known, you can plan your class, professions and route with any classic guide, including the ones on this site.
When Classic+ makes more sense
If you have played the original content many times and want surprises, a Classic+ realm offers new places and systems. The trade-off is that balance changes and custom content are harder to plan around.
Some players keep a character on each type. Keldurn's browser play makes that easy: no second launcher to install.
Questions to ask yourself
Answer these honestly and the choice usually makes itself:
- Have you already cleared the original raids more than once?
- Do you enjoy planning your route and professions with guides?
- Does your group want surprises or a shared, known path?
- How many evenings a week can you realistically play?
Questions players ask
Is blizzlike the same as the official Classic Era realms?
No. Official realms run Blizzard's own modern Classic client and rules. Blizzlike private realms aim to recreate a specific original patch, such as 1.12.
Does Keldurn change any class?
No. Classes and talents follow the 1.12 rules.
