Whitemane: Cataclysm veterans and a fresh Wrath realm

Cataclysm, done carefully

Cataclysm is harder to emulate than earlier expansions, and few servers run it well. Whitemane built its name there: Gilneas and Maelstrom offer 4.3.4 content with a stable community, and both remain the core of the project.

On top of the original game it adds custom legendary items, a solo queue for PvP and an optional hardcore mode where death is permanent.

Frostmourne and what comes next

Frostmourne opened on 19 September 2026 as a fresh Wrath of the Lich King realm under the name Wrath Rebuffed, giving new and returning players a level start. Fresh realms are the best moment to join any server, because everyone begins together.

A Mists of Pandaria realm called Stormstout has been announced but delayed, so treat any date as provisional.

How to start on Whitemane

• Create an account on whitemane.org
• Use the 4.3.4 client for Gilneas and Maelstrom, or 3.3.5a for Frostmourne
• If you are new, join Frostmourne while the fresh realm is young
• Leave hardcore mode until you know your class well

Compared with Keldurn

Whitemane suits players who want Cataclysm or a fresh Wrath start. Keldurn stays in vanilla 1.12 at x1 and plays in a browser or on a phone, which suits players who want the world before it changed.
