Project Epoch Reborn: Classic+ after two closures

A short, eventful history

Project Epoch drew attention in 2025 with a Classic+ idea: keep the vanilla feel but add original quests, reworked classes and new dungeons. It launched in July 2025 and received a cease and desist from Blizzard in September 2025.

It continued for a while on Ascension's launcher, until Project Ascension closed its World of Warcraft realms in September 2026. Project Epoch Reborn is presented as a separate community-run continuation.

What to expect from Reborn

The Reborn site describes a free Classic+ world with original quests, reworked classes, dungeons and optional challenges, opening on 23 October 2026. Rates and realm types may still change before launch, so check the site close to the date.

Given the project's history, treat the opening date as a plan rather than a promise.

How to start on Project Epoch Reborn

• Bookmark project-epoch.org and check it in the days before 23 October
• Create your account only on that site
• Read the final rates and realm rules once they are published
• Arrange to start with friends on opening day, when everyone is level 1

Until then, treat any download offered elsewhere under the Epoch name with suspicion.

Compared with Keldurn

Epoch is for players who want new content on vanilla foundations. Keldurn keeps the original 1.12 content at x1 and is open now, playable in a browser while you wait.
