After Project Ascension
Ascension has closed. Where can you still play classic?
Ascension's realms went offline on 4 and 5 September 2026 and its team moved on to an original game. Keldurn is a different kind of realm: no classless system, just the original 1.12 classes and world, playable from a browser tab.
What an Ascension player should know first
Keldurn is not classless and adds no custom spells, so builds work the way they did in 1.12: nine classes, three talent trees each and the familiar roles in dungeons and raids.
What Keldurn changes is access. Browser play needs no launcher: you create an account, choose a character and enter one persistent PvP realm that browser, mobile and Windows players share.
What matters before you start
- Nine original classes with 1.12 talent trees and no classless or custom-spell system.
- x1 rates on a PvP realm with a level cap of 60 and the complete 1.12 content.
- Your web account is separate from the realm; Keldurn never asks for a Battle.net login.
- Free to play, with an optional shop for cosmetics and account services.
Why classic rules can still feel fresh
Without custom classes, the world becomes the challenge again: travelling on foot until riding at level 40, careful pulls in early dungeons and parties formed in the Global channel.
Each class has a clear job. A warrior holds threat, a priest keeps the group alive and a mage or rogue controls the next pull, so a well-built party still beats a stack of strong individuals.
Bringing friends along
Everyone starts fresh, so a group of friends can level together from the first zone. Share a link and a friend on a laptop, phone or tablet can join the same realm without installing a launcher.
Players who prefer a traditional application can use the Keldurn Windows client with the same account and characters.
