Choosing a vanilla server in 2026

Is that server population real?

Short answer

Do not trust a counter alone. Log in at the hours you usually play and check five things: activity in the Global channel, the number of Auction House listings, players in starting zones, how fast dungeon groups form and whether guilds are recruiting. These signs are hard to fake and tell you if the realm fits your schedule.

Key facts

Check 1Global or world channel activity
Check 2Auction House listings across item types
Check 3Players visible in starting zones
Check 4How quickly dungeon groups form
Check 5Guilds recruiting in chat
Checklist: Global chat activity, Auction House listings, players in starting zones, dungeon group speed, guild recruitment.

Why counters mislead

Online counters can include bots, idle characters or players from other time zones. A realm that is busy at 21:00 in Europe may be quiet at 21:00 in the Americas.

What matters is whether you can find a group and a working economy when you actually play.

Try before you commit

Create a character and spend half an hour in a starting zone and a capital. You will learn more than from any list.

On Keldurn that test is quick: create a free account, open the game in your browser and look around.

  • Visit at your normal play time.
  • Ask in chat what time the realm is busiest.
  • Check the Auction House for the materials you plan to gather.

Signs a realm is growing

A healthy realm does not only look busy today; it shows signs of new players arriving:

  • Fresh character names in the starting zones.
  • New guilds recruiting for levelling groups.
  • Plenty of low-level materials on the Auction House.
  • Dungeon groups forming for early dungeons, not only endgame.

Questions players ask

Does a small realm mean it will close?

Not necessarily. Stable rules and a fair shop matter more than size; many small communities last.

When is Keldurn busiest?

Log in at your usual hours and check chat: that is the most reliable answer for your schedule.
